Once upon a time...

....just something I've noticed with some people that's caught my eye that's stricken not only awesome friends of mine, but me as well--

When people request images (I'm not talking commissions, because you get paid for that stuff) and you agree to take on the person's request FOR FREE and you produce an image... now for the most part you're going to give it your all and work at your hardest ability to produce a decent image that shows off your talent and appeals to your requesters' taste.

At least... that's what the determined ones do, right? You don't want to give anyone a half assed piece of work...

So anyway, once these images are finished-- (Hours later, mind you.) And their done being sketched, colored, or whatever and handed to the requester and in the end the requester's response is:

"Oh gee. That's not what I wanted. Whatever. Thanks."

...or some other comment relating to that one. Or not even give one at all?

What. The. Hell?

After someone has worked on something FOR FREE for YOU and the response you give them is so obviously unenthused and... not really appreciative of what this person has just done for you? Don't you think the least you can do is give them the proper respect with a genuine 'thank you?'

I think so.

Because think about it:

This person took time out of their schedule to draw YOU something. To add color to something just for you....

And how do you say thank you?

Your guardians taught you all the proper way to say thank you when you receive gifts. Receiving a requested picture is no different.

If you're a requester you need to take that added regard to say 'thank you' in some sort of positive way. If the image you received is just a little bit "off" just because a skirt was drawn too long by a centimeter or something of that nature YOU need to chill out and deal with it.

Why do I say that?

Because for the sole fact that this person took their time out of their schedule to draw you a FREE PICTURE.

Duh.
